A House Converted into Accommodation

by an Architect

Branding, Styling, Visual Design

DESIGN NOTE

Architect Hoon Moon's House of Wind is a space created in a village of artists in Jeoji-ri, Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju, and was reborn as an accommodation named Space Duck through crowdfunding by Stayfolio. It adheres to the original design of the Space Duck intended by the architect, provides a more diverse spatial experience through reinterpreted styling, and is designed to serve as a base for travelers who have gone to Jeju to settle down for a while in new inspiration and relaxation.

There are three rooms in the Space Duck, each of which exists independently and has been designed to maximize the spatial experiences of each room. The Space Room is a room that can accommodate up to six people and is an excellent place to stay with family and friends. It includes a living room, a kitchen, and a bedroom that are connected in one area, so you can feel cool and cozy, especially when you open the curtains, and the large yard and lemon tree garden are lovely spaces. Cosmo Room was designed to provide a comfortable working environment for creators to stay for a long period of time, with ample storage, kitchens, and spacious bathrooms that are difficult to find in existing accommodations. Sensuous props, a turntable, and a beam projector provide new inspirations and stimulate creative thinking. With an elegant sense of space resembling duck structures and spaceships, Nest Room offers a unique worldview of Hoon Moon's architects in which the guests can enjoy the natural scenery of Jeoji-ri through a window resembling snow and feel a sense of freedom that is difficult to achieve in everyday life.

As each room in the Space Duck is independent, it is also suitable for a large group of people to stay together as well. You can sit at a large table, talk with your loved ones, and enjoy a barbecue party in the backyard, where lemon trees can be seen. Seeing the sunset and starlight at night would also be an enjoyable experience. Apart from the interior space, there are a number of attractions on the island including the Jeju Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Osullok Tea Museum, and Biotopia. We invite you to rest in Jeju's unusual imagination if you wish to leave tired of boredom.
