DESIGN NOTE
A dream village for artists in Korea, Heyri Art Valley unveils different architectures, as if each has different stories to tell. And at the center of the village of diversity, there is Dialouge – the place that has deftly used loose curves to embrace the atmosphere of Heyri Art Valley. Nameless Architecture took charge of the design, and the architects of the studio sought to focus on conversation that were to be exchanged among people experiencing Heyri Art Valley and Dialogue.
The staircase swirling up the exterior makes a small trekking course where you could experience the surrounding landscape. At the end of a walk along the relaxed curves, you will finally enter the building and thus, will see a small curved garden. The concave windows lets light and wind in the house, while they nudge visitors into looking over them. The window in the front part of the living room, in particular, creates an easement, embracing greenery of nature of Heyri. The spacious kitchen in the back of the living room is nicely furbished with equipment and tools to ensure convenience even when guests do not go anywhere outside of the facility.
Behind the long wooden door along the hallway, there is a small study that looks much like an art studio. In the study, you may try finding your favorite seat to read a few books taken out of the bookshelf and take a few notes. You may also consider heading to the rooftop to see the landscape of Heyri and feel the breeze. And a stroll along the neighborhood to explore unique workshops, museums and galleries would make experience in Dialogue much richer. The host sincerely wishes that the experience in Dialogue could lead to spending time for guests to look back upon themselves.
