Adamhanok

Cozy Single-House Hanok Nestled in Seochon Alley

Branding, Styling, Visual Design

DESIGN NOTE

We sometimes desire for a private place in the midst of our hectic and complicated life. When we want the tranquility of the day yet can’t get away far, Adamhanok, located in an alley of Seochon, will be the special place to serve us. Adamhanok was planned to present a space for thoughts and provide a sanctuary for modern people. Maximum efficiency was considered for the small space where it holds the value of those who seek to possess “less” for the better living style.

The structure of Adamhanok includes a kitchen, living room and bathroom on the first floor, and cozy bedroom on the second and lastly the basement finished with cypress wood. The basement is a secret space with a mirror and low ceiling, a perfect environment to let you turn off all the thoughts and spend time for yoga, meditation or reading. The vertical structure of the three-story house offers a dynamic space experience. An open-air bath is laid in the corner of the yard where you can feel relaxed even in the city. A tea set is ready for a tea time for visitors on the first floor where the sunlight touches.

Products of modern brands like George Nelson, Wie Ein Kino, Rare Raw, Milmuah are decorated in the house in contrast to the classic Hanok house. Besides the charm of the space itself, the location is also attractive. You can welcome your morning with Nuhadong Juice Bar, have lunch at Gonggi Sikdang or enjoy the slow movement of time with a cup of coffee at Spector Coffee. You can also go for a leisurely walk to Suseongdong Valley where you can breathe fresh air. I also recommend taking a stroll in the backdrop of small alleys of Seochon. In Seochon, alleys become elevators, the village itself will be the destination of your travel.
